18.5″ x 22″ transparent watercolor on 100% rag Arches paper. The tree-line is straight across the top, not wavy. The figure of Nick is positioned more to the left-front of the painting to avoid a “bull’s-eye” center of attention. Minor changes can still be made to the painting.

The painting is beautiful and very colorful. You capture a pretty close likeness to Nick. I think he would have really liked it.

Thank you for your kind comments. The artist is always very interested in hearing comments about the painting when it’s finished.

Everytime I look at the painting I love it more and more. We have been calling it Nick canoeing on Heaven Lake. I am considering buying it but would also like to see the other painting that has been started before I make a decision. I also had a couple questions on the care of the water color painting and will it fade in time etc.
Thanks again for taking time to paint Nick.

Thanks for replying, and please take your time to get to know the painting and seeing other submissions. When my watercolors are complete and I don’t want to change anything, I spray them with Krylon Crystal Clear. It should have a mat to separate it from the glass it’s under in the frame and should never fade if care has been taken to use good paper and paint. Watercolor has evolved to being a very permanent medium and can last hundreds of years with care. Do not put it in direct sunlight of course, as the sun is bad for any kind of color.

Take your time; I will answer any questions on the preservation of watercolor that you need if you do decide to purchase it. Watercolors last hundreds of years when properly cared for; this one will be fixed with Krylon Crystal Clear before shipping, as I do with all my watercolors when I know they’re truly finished.

Well, I’m sorry you don’t feel up to paper dolling, but I think evenroye who draws has times when they don’t feel like doing what they usually do. I’d love to see your other work or anything else you like while you decide where to go next with your art.
