16″ X 20″
acrylic on masonite
After I completed this painting someone suggested that I should put a barn cat in the foreground. If the person who posted photo 1052 would like a cat or maybe an old wooden pail added, just let me know. No added cost for changes.
I also added more grass into the painting for color.

I’m posting this painting now but don’t have access to the pricing information. I will post the price in the morning. Love the color. Another beautiful painting Dona!

Gorgeous picture Dona! The horse in the far back is actually a fat, scruffy pony named Brownie. The cats didn’t hang out too much with the horses that I recall. I love the way you brightened up the ground! The trees are so cool too!

I got clarification on the pony, it was a Hackney pony more of a chestnut color. As for the cat, an orange or grey tabby would probably match with the farm cats that were always in the barn. So if you want to add in the cat then that would be good too.
I just love the old family photos and you do such a great job painting them!

One little critique from me Dona; I think the ears on the horse facing us should be slightly further apart. I realize horses point their ears straight at you when they are focusing on you but I still think they art a bit too close together. Even though it is a very minor change I think it will make big difference because its such a focal part of the painting.
